SEASON 2022

SEASON 2022 THEME:  THE “OTHER”

Season 2022’s theme is “The Other,” (often expressed as “us versus them”), which is an outcome of perspective. Productions in 2022 explore how we may label the unfamiliar as “other,” something outside of ourselves, our current knowledge and prior experiences. Recognized as new or different, labeling someone as “other” often causes us to lose sight of our compassion and common humanity.  And thus is propelled the human drama… or comedy of errors.

We are excited to share these new works by local voices, productions and events, with you.

Ghosts of Placer County

A new play by T.S. Forsyth, produced by Placer Repertory Theater

About this event

“The stories we tell say a great deal about who we are,” says the formidable yet loveable character Dr. Dessa Dagmar.

This is the story of 30 years in the life of Dr. Dagmar and her daughter Aubrey, or the story of many moments from nearly 200 years of history taking place in Placer County.

This play could be said to be about ghostly echoes. The playwright, T.S. Forsyth, sums up the play this way: The play is about how individual and community history haunts us, and how we haunt our history to define ourselves. “With its charm, humor and poignancy, this could be considered a comedic drama or a dark comedy,” says the playwright.

COME JOIN US AND PLAY A PART IN PLACER COUNTY HISTORY IN THE MAKING! All ages welcome.
